Beyond the Behaviour

This summer, national charity Ivison Trust are launching Beyond the Behaviour campaign to raise awareness about child exploitation in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Stockton, and Redcar.

We know that children are being harmed by exploiters across towns in the Northeast and too often it goes unseen. Beyond The Behaviour invites members of the public to think about whether young people they are seeing in their local area could be at risk of harm from child exploitation.

Children who are being exploited are often be involved in and coerced into problematic behaviour in public spaces such shoplifting or drinking alcohol. Vulnerable children can be hidden in plain sight, so we are asking people to see Beyond the Behaviour.

How you can get involved

Thursday 23rd July, between 10.00 and 15.00pm, come along to Middleton Grange to speak to staff from Ivison Trust, to see how you can help keep children safe from harm in Hartlepool. There are lots of activities to get involved in: free child exploitation awareness training, learning how to deliver your own awareness settings in your workplace, or becoming a Community Guardian.
