Exciting Plans Unfold for Middleton Grange Shopping Centre
Thanks to a significant investment secured through the Government’s Town Deal, plans to revitalise the Centre are progressing well. At the heart of the project is the restoration of the Grade II-listed former Binns building – an iconic part of Hartlepool’s heritage. This striking historic space will be refurbished to create a mix of flexible new uses, from vibrant cafés and restaurants to modern offices and leisure spaces, bringing fresh life and activity into the town centre.
The regeneration work also includes reimagining the north-east wing of the Centre to make way for new public spaces that could host events and social activity, helping create a welcoming hub for the whole community.
All of this is part of a broader vision to make Middleton Grange a more attractive, mixed-use destination where people want to shop, meet, eat and enjoy time together. With planning and design work moving forward this year, visible progress is expected in the coming months, and the community can look forward to seeing ideas take shape on site as part of this long-term transformation.
Stay tuned for more updates as we work together to make Middleton Grange a vibrant heart for Hartlepool!
