Santa’s Big Arrival Brings Festive Magic to Middleton Grange
Christmas officially started at Middleton Grange Shopping Centre on Saturday 29th November, as families gathered for one of the most magical days in the town’s festive calendar — Santa’s Big Arrival!
From 10:15am, Central Square was transformed into a winter wonderland, shimmering with lights, music and excitement as visitors of all ages joined us for a full day of free festive fun. The celebrations began with a beautiful carol performance from New Springs City Church Hartlepool, setting the perfect joyful tone for the day. Our live DJ kept the atmosphere buzzing, bringing even more Christmas cheer to the crowds.
A Grand Entrance from the Man in Red
The highlight of the day, of course, was Santa’s spectacular arrival at the Treehouse Grotto. Families gathered eagerly as the big man in red made his way into the centre, greeted by cheers, smiling faces and more than a few excited little ones ready to share their Christmas wishes.
From 1:30pm, Santa opened his grotto for the season, welcoming children for festive photos, heart-warming chats and a special early Christmas gift (for those on the nice list!). His team of cheeky elves were on hand to help families book their visits throughout December and spread that extra bit of Christmas sparkle.
Special Guests from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Adding to the magic, we were delighted to welcome the cast of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs from AJ Theatrical Productions. Snow White, the Evil Queen, the Prince, the Dame and Muddle brought plenty of panto fun to the day ahead of their run at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre (10th–27th December). Shoppers were treated to photos, laughter and a little theatrical mischief — the perfect preview of festive theatre to come.
